Today, on Military Spouse Appreciation Day, we want to recognize the significant contributions, support, and sacrifice of all of our military spouses. Combined Arms would like to highlight two military spouses in our network and recognize all of their efforts and accomplishments.
Reda Hicks
Reda is a practicing attorney and military families advocate based in Houston, Texas. Reda is also the Founder and CEO of GotSpot, a digital marketplace connecting small enterprises with micro-term commercial space rentals. GotSpot was recently featured in an article highlighting 9 Houston startups that are pivoting to provide COVID-19 related services. Reda serves on the Boards of Leadership Houston, Texas Lyceum, League of Women Voters Houston, Sketch City, and Military Family Advisory Network. A proud Army wife, Reda is a founding member of the Military Spouse JD Network. Reda is also a co-founder of the Keep Your Promise Alliance, and was named 2014 Armed Forces Insurance Army Spouse of the Year for her advocacy on behalf of military families and veterans. She currently serves as the Houston Steering Committee Member for the Texas Veteran Spouse Network.
Hannah O’Brien
Hannah is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin’s Steve Hicks School of Social Work Masters program, and received her Bachelor's degree in Law and Society from American University in Washington, D.C. Upon beginning her graduate studies, Hannah met and fell in love with a Marine veteran and knew she wanted to make a career out of serving veterans and their families. Hannah currently serves as a Program Manager for The Institute for Military and Veteran Family Wellness at The University of Texas at Austin, managing programs such as the Veteran Spouse Network, and the Veteran Spouse Resiliency group program. She also serves as the chair of the Caregiver Collaboration Committee, helping Combined Arms serve those who care for our nation's veterans.
